| Setting Up Windows 95a Make sure you have Dial-Up
Networking installed
- Double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop. If you do not
see a Dial-Up Networking icon, then follow steps 2
through 4.
- Click on Add/Remove Programs in Control panel.
- Single click on Windows Setup then single click Communications,
and then click Details.
- Check Dial-Up Networking, and then click OK.
(This should ask for your installation disks).
Setting up a connection to your access provider
- In Dial-Up Networking, double-click Make New Connection.
(If it is your first Dial-Up Networking connection, you'll be prompted automatically.)
- Follow the instructions on your screen. When prompted for the phone number
enter 0198 331 201.
- Using your right mouse button, single-click the connection icon that you made for
Internet Express, and then click Properties.
- In the Properties for the connection, click Server Type, and
then make sure your screen looks like the one below:

Install the Windows 95 TCP/IP protocol
1. In Control Panel click on the Network icon.
Your Network window should look like the one in Figure 3, you will probably have to remove
some of the installed items, and add the Microsoft TCP/IP protocol.

2. Click TCP/IP then Properties.
A. IP Address = Obtain an IP address automatically
B. WINS Configuration = Disable WINS Resolution
C. DNS Configuration = Disable DNS
3. You should be able to answer OK to all the Network windows
and restart your computer when prompted.
Dialing Internet Express
Double-click My Computer and then Dialup Networking.
Double click the icon you created for Internet Express . Enter your User
Name and Password in lower case, then click on Connect.
Internet Explorer V3.0 Information
After you first run Internet Explorer for the first time there are a few things
that need to be set .
Go to View menu then select Options
Type in the address box as follows http://www.ix.net.au
Now click the OK Button
Go to the Navigation Tab on the top of the form
Now click on the Use current which should bring up
Internet Express Homepage as the default home page. Now
click on the OK Button and you are now on Internet Expresss
Homepage .
Email Information for Internet Mail

| The popserver is: | pop3.ix.net.au |
| The SMTP server is: | smtp.ix.net.au |
Your Account Name is your Email Address.
News Server address for Internet News
The address of the news server is news.ix.net.au
Your news server does not require you to login
