Select 'Run the New Connection Wizard so I can select another
connection method'
CLICK 'OK'
CLICK 'NEXT'
Select 'Connect to the Internet'
CLICK 'OK'
Select 'Set up my connection manually'
CLICK 'NEXT'
Select 'Connect using a dial-up modem'
CLICK 'NEXT'
Enter 'Internet Express'
CLICK 'NEXT'
ENTER the Following details:
Area Code = Leave Blank
Telephone Number = 0198 331 201
Country name and code = Australia 61
UNCHECK the box 'Dial using the area code and country code'
CLICK 'NEXT'
User Name and password
ENTER your email address eg: jbloggs@ix.net.au
ENTER your password, chosen when you created your account,
eg: 123xyz
NOTE: These MUST be in lower case or login failure will occur
CLICK 'NEXT'
Tick 'Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop'
CLICK 'FINISH'
Set Up Your Browser
CLICK "START"
Click Control Panel
DOUBLE CLICK 'Internet Properties'
Enter http://www.ix.net.au in the address field
Select the 'Connections' tab
Select 'Always dial my default connection'
CLICK 'OK'
CLICK 'OK'
Close Control Panel
Setting up your Email
CLICK "START"
Click on E-mail (Outlook Express)
NOTE:If the Mail setup wizard doesn't pop up
CLICK on 'Tools' then SELECT 'Accounts' from the top menu
bar.
When an 'Internet accounts' box shows up CLICK once on 'ADD'
then SELECT 'MAIL'
Your Name.
ENTER a name you wish to be displayed when you send an E-mail
eg: Joseph Bloggs
CLICK 'NEXT'.
Enter your 'EMAIL ADDRESS'
CLICK 'NEXT'
E-mail Server Names
ENTER the following details:
My incoming mail server is a 'POP3' server
Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server = pop3.ix.net.au
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server = smtp.ix.net.au
CLICK 'NEXT'
Enter your email address in the "Account Name" field
Enter your 'PASSWORD'
Tick 'Remember password'
CLICK 'NEXT'
CLICK 'FINISH'
